Mecklenburg County
Mecklenburg County is known for its popular Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston. It has nine magisterial districts or wards and twenty-three precincts. The area is 639 square miles. The population as of 2017 totaled 30,681 people.

Our Mission
To expand the Democratic electorate by protecting people's right to vote and by organizing around issues in line with the Democratic platform.
Our Vision
Our vision is a country where everyone is treated fairly and with respect. To bring that vision into reality, members of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Committee (MCDC) will work to elect candidates who are sensitive to both rural and urban issues and will advocate on behalf of all the citizens in Mecklenburg County and beyond.
The Committee
The Mecklenburg Democratic Committee is one of the 23 Democratic committees located in Virginia's Fifth Congressional District. The Committee operates under the authority of the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Party of Virginia organizational structure.
